I first bought the original in DIY kit form with the 1/4" laces and black leather top. I went with the thin laces because of the comments that they might be easier to get used to if you had never worn "thong" type sandals. Now that I am used to the lace between the toes I might consider getting the thicker laces. I also bought a 'factory' pair of the originals with the leather top and ATS laces. These look better but have more 'overhang' around my feet (I cut my DIY soles to 'just' fit on my feet). The ATS laces don't stay tight enough however so the heel strap eventually slips down, especially if I wear long pants. They are OK with shorts however. The leather laces work well with slacks.

It did take a few weeks before I could wear either pair of sandals all day long, and now I'd rather leave the shoes and socks behind.

I bought the Leadcats with the 1/2 inch elasticized leather because of a review here a few months ago. I've now run about 100 miles in them and love them. It did take a while to dial in the elasticized leather. I haven't tried the regular leather so have nothing to compare to, but the stretchy leather made it difficult to decide how tight to tie. At first my foot slipped around a bit, but after wearing them in and getting the tie right, my feet stay put. Running in the heat should be a lot more fun for my feet this summer.

I personally love the elasticized laces on my Eqqus sandals. It definitely took a little while to figure out the right lacing balance and tension, but now it's perfect. So easy to slip on and off while being completely comfortable and secure.

I have two, both a pair of Leadville's, naked tops. Once with the old and a pair I just bouth with the new style ATS lacing I absolutely hate. They just pinch! Always wanted to try the leather top/smaller footbed...

Have just ordered the Wokova Feather from Unshoes. I like the look better than Lunas or Invisible Shoes. They're also a lot less expensive. But as to function, we'll see.

For everyone having trouble with the elastic laces, I agree with Jimmy that it just takes time. I practically drove my boyfriend to distraction the first two weeks after getting my Lunas - every time we went for a walk I inevitably stopped to adjust the laces. I think it also makes a difference once the footbed is molded to your foot...easier to get a custom fit without cutting off the circulation. :)

Robert - If I remember correctly, I read something in one of their newsletters about it being difficult to attach the non-slip footbed to the sole, or something along those lines. I was really disappointed when they discontinued them, too. The other models just get too slick in the rain. :(

I've had a pair of O.G lunas with the elastic laces for about two weeks and have gone on a few runs and worn them everywhere when I don't have to be in a suit for work. I Love these things! I actually had to loosen the laces up from how they came shipped. They're now just tight enough to not flop around but loose enough so its not uncomfortable if I wear them all day. My favorite footwear by far.
