I've been a right tool and not realised there was such an issue with counterfeit Vibrams. I googled "Vibram Five Fingers UK" and the top result was:

http://www.vibramfivefingerukshop.com/

This seemed fine to an unsuspecting customer like me, and in my defense I think it's a reasonable expectation to believe the top result would be an official website.

I proceeded to purchase a pair of Komodo's from the official looking website. Now that I've received them they are clearly fake. They dont even have the full Vibram logo down the side. They say "ibram".

I feel really stupid, as I thought I was quite wise to this sort of thing. Turns out I'm not.

Could Vibrams do more to combat this sort of thing? I'm sure if I googled, Nike UK, Adidas UK or Speedo UK an offical website would be the top result?

Pretty sure you can add these guys to the list: http://www.vibramforfiveshoes.com/
Grammar is a bit off, pricing/sales seem "too good", Vibram (the real guys) never seem to refer to their FFs as "shoes" etc.

Before finding this site I ordered a pair of Vibrams from what I thought was a legit UK seller, then I got the email saying they were being delivered from China "ding-ding" alarm bells. Even now I am still awaiting delivery even though the said they were delivered 36 hours later at 02:00am, fast delivery from China don't even know if UPS offer that. Anyway the site is http://www.uk5fingers.org, looks perfectly genuine but I don't think so as I have now emailed 3 times without reply

Received an e-mail today from Vibram regarding 6pm.com shoes... the person who responded to my e-mail said 6pm.com is a valid seller and assured me that I did not receive fakes. I think my first pair was fake but they held up well and I loved them.. my new classics are uncomfortable and I kind of hate them. I'll try out the Alitza and see where that gets me!

Thank you all for these insightful comments, and for the dude who has brought people together with vibram/barefoot running.

Palladiumfinder is a seller on eBay who is selling fakes.

Might I add the obvious? If they're dirt cheap; not listed on the official site; Have terrible errors on grammar in the description; Are shipped from Chin then I`d bet my life that they're fake. MY LIFE! Don't be a mug, buy the real thing.

I'll hopefully experience my first real pair tomorrow, if they fit. Fingers crossed they fit.

I JUST purchased a pair of the KMD LS from 6pm.com - thought they were too small so went to fit2run, an authorized dealer and purchased a size larger. Once I got home, I noticed major differences; I noticed the inside wall stitching was missing from the 6pm pair, print on the box was different, the tag tied to the shoes were of different colors, and embroidery on the shoes were different thickness and shades.

I found that odd, I thought 6pm would be trustworthy... I'm emailing VFF and 6pm about this to further investigate.
