I "hope" to do the Flying Pig Marathon, May 1, 2011 in my VFF KSO's .

It's been a while but I have done 6 prior marathons but always crashed in the last few miles due to upper thigh cramps.  SO...I am sure VFF's will solve that problem but not sure what other new issues I might develop.

Can't wait to see how training proceeds!

What kind of training program are you doing to prep for the half marathon?

Kentucky Derby Marathon April 30th

Just getting back in shape so time will hopefully be sub 2:40.

If everything goes right and I manage 7 plus weeks at over 70mi then I will shoot for sub 2:35.

Haven't decided if I will run in mizuno ronins or VFF Bikila.

I am hoping to do my first half marathon at the Bluenose Marathon in Halifax NS May of this year.  First run in VFF but been training in sprints and bikilas since October.

I am planning on doing the Fargo Marathon the third weekend in May.  My training has been slow though, these Minnesota winters and lots of extra ice and snow make running kinda questionable some days!!

It'll be my first...I am excited to try it! Grin

My goal is actually the full marathon but even though I've done 6 prior marathons I've decided to just do the "novice" marathon training plan since I am worried about overdoing it and causing a foot injury.  I am really enjoying it thus far.

for HALF MARATHONS...I have had a lot of success in the past with the Hal Higdon training plans but that was in my shod running days.

I am thinking about VFF KSO's but may change to another model since I'm concerned the seam cutting they cause...especially at longer distances.

Sweet, I'm doing that one too!  Smiley I've heard the course is hilly so I'm not going to worry about time.

I'm also doing the Saint Louis Marathon on April 10th and Glass City in Toldeo on April 17th.
