If anyone has ever been to Floyd, Virginia, it's a small town in the Blue Ridge mountains. Partial small town America, part Hippie town. Each Friday night the General store has Bluegrass music. You will see people from age five to seventy-five dancing (clogging or whatever) to the music. Some with boots, some with taps, some barefoot, and one this past week with Vibrams (yours truly). Got a few comments and strange looks, but it was a blast!! That was something different to do in my Vibrams.

The next day was something more normal-ish: A hike while wearing the treks. Really starting to like those for trails--a lot.

I've been to the jamboree - I'll bet you did get some looks from the old folks there!  I recently took my smartwools to the Pine Tavern for some dancing and my feet felt wonderful all night.  I don't think anyone really noticed them, though.  I can't wait try out my sprints at a contra dance!

I did get a few looks and a couple of questions. Funniest part is, the oddest looks and comments I got was from a very short, rather portly woman in her late 50's dancing with three small children near my girlfriend and myself. She was BAREFOOT with not-so-cute feet and had the audacity to think what I was wearing (black KSO's) looked funny!!! Go figure!!!

Back in the day I used to work for a school photography company. I would camp out at the Hampton Inn in Christiansburg, then drive down Rt 8 to Floyd County HS in the morning. What a beautiful drive through the Blue Ridge Mtns to get to Floyd.

Gorgeous area!! Plan on hiking Rock Castle Gorge next time up that way. That's a nice 11 mile test for the KSO Treks.
