This past weekend I was in Las Vegas for the AKC Kettlebell Classic. It is Kettlebell Sport competition, if you don't know Kettlebell sport is a strength endurance sport where the goal is to do max reps in 10min of either Long Cycle - Clean and Jerk (double KBs) or Biathlon - Jerks (double KBS) and Snatches (one KB) without putting the weights down.

I wore my Flow's instead of the usual hard wooden heel weightlifting shoes to the meet. Love lifting in my VFF's

here are a few links to my report on the weekend, including videos and pics from the event.

Feedback is always welcome, here or on the blog.  Grin

Boris,
To loose 5kg then compete that takes some focus and dedication. Double doff of cap for that.

The KBs must be doing their thing as you do not look like you scale 80kg. Must be carrying quality dense lean muscle. Just doing the math 2 x 20 = 40 - 40 = half your body weight. Nice.

Thank Jason, my goal was originally to make it in at the 75kg class, but when I came in at 85, I knew 80 was where I need to go.

Funny enough I wasn't the only one another lifter had on a pair of classics. It felt good not to be the only oddball.

Not something I have been drawn to, but out of interest, what lower weight classes are there? looking around the 65kg mark.

Jason when it comes to weight classes for me, it goes from 55kg upto 95+kg in 5kg increments. So there is a 65kg weight class as long as you're 65kg or under you can compete at that.
