I'll admit I've done the heel thing in some real nasty restrooms but for the most part it doesn't bother me....  I run barefoot and as others have said pretty much what you find in the restroom can be pretty much found on the sidewalk or street.  Personally, I feel better with my VFF's because they get washed regular and if need be everyday.  Think back to when (or if you still do) you wore normal shoes.  How often did your sneakers/shoes come off your feet and into a gym bag, suit case, car seat, kitchen stool, etc?  Now think of where they've been and what was on them.......  At least my piggies and Vff's are wash friendly...

It's the ick factor more than any actual concern for me. Every time a toilet is flushed human waste is vaporized...

thats why i kick the 'flusher' and run.  i've never touched one in a public bathroom with my hands. lol. silly but i think it's gross.

i've been on the road a lot lately and see guys all the time leave without washing or anything.  blekk.

I too flush with a foot, wash hands and use the the paper towel from drying my hands to open the door if it pulls in(I refuse to touch that nonsense!), other wise it gets pushed open with a foot. Toilet seat cover in houses are Always closed before flushing, don't want that bacteria shower hitting all over the everything else.
Public restrooms are usually nasty evil places and I hate them...

Well you can't really flush a urinal with your foot... unless you're really flexible and do gymnastics.  Tongue  That's why I love the ones that flush by themselves when you leave.  But even if you do have to touch it, you're still going to wash your hands anyway afterwards.  And the best way is to pull some towels out first, wash hands, dry with towels, shut off water with towels, and use towels on door handle when you leave.

Oh man. A couple of weeks ago at the gym, I walked away from the urinal and it flushed itself. But unfortunately the urinal overflowed and splashed pee and water all over the floor including the guy next to me. He was wearing black KSO's. I think it might have got a little wet.

It's really embarrassing, but I walked away and pretended like my headphones were blaring too loud. I should have said something, but then it really wasn't my fault that the urinal didn't work. I saw him later at the ellipticals, working away like nothing happened.
