Next spring several friends and I are planning to hike the Camino de Santiago in Spain.  I've been thinking about wearing my Sprints, or Treks if they come out with ones small enough for my feet.  I don't need the support of boots (and don't want to deal with the heat and weight if I can avoid it), and I've had bad luck with blisters in other shoes (sandals especially).  My Sprints, however, have never hurt my feet, only tired them.

So I was wondering if anyone else has done any long-distance walking in their VFFs, and what your experiences are, if so.

I go barefoot, but my dog wears shoes.

Didn't a member here walk the Inca trail in Chile in their VFFs?

I remember before my feet had adjusted, I walked some long distances in mine way too soon and my feet felt like they were murdered, but now it doesn't bother me. I think if people are doing ultras in Treks then should very well be able to walk long distances in them.

go barefoot... everything else is just holding you back.

I've hiked a lot in the White Mountains and I'm gonna do the AT this summer, will mostly be in KSOs. Never have gotten any blisters or pain with VFFs or barefoot, only with hiking boots.  Grin
