Two days ago I went for my first run in over two weeks after my second round of treatment for some big plantar warts on both feet. It was only a 10 minute light jog, but it felt amazing. It felt different in a very good way not to feel the warts when landing.
I'm up early and went out for a 5k run while I had the winter tires put on the car. It's -10C outside, and I put my winter running gear through its paces today. I have some running tights, a lightweight fleece, moisture wicking shirt, a shell jacket, and I picked up a Talus Coldavenger balaclava. Wow, the balaclava is a fantastic piece of running gear. It warms the air as you breathe it in, and made a huge difference. I had bronchitis as a kid and my lungs still bother me when I do something intense in the cold. I did a 5k and my lungs were totally fresh, not burning at all. I took the mask off and tht burning feeling came back right away, so it definitely works! Oh yeah and I went for my first run in my new Flows, and once my core warmed up my feet were toasty warm. Really pleased with the choices in kit for the winter. Now I just have to try in 'normal' winter conditions here at -30C and see how my gear holds up. Might get some thicker mitts, and some outer pants for the really cold days.
I'm kind of excited for winter, I must be sick.

I ran 8.15miles on Saturday! Farthest distance to date ever, plus in vffs!
I bought a petzl headlamp from amazon for evening runs.. I definitely need some serious winter gear but can probably get by with what I have for now/layering

I would say that 13 miles in 5 hours is pretty good. That could help you build up the stamina so the next run does not feel like so much.

Ran 2.45 barefoot (my longest so far since swapping) on asphalt in my neighborhood as twilight faded to a pretty bright moon and a fantastic view of the stars. Had a blast

So i went to run last night at the track, ge there and forgot my flows...no biggie, I've ran there barefoot before but this time it was cold out.....I started jogging and the track didn't feel as great...it kinda hurt and I only got 3 laps in before my feet were cold and stinging....guess the cold hardens up the rubbery track....iv ran barefoot in the cold around my development before and never had this feeling. the bottoms were sensitive on the ball but went away with sleep.

Jeep, how does your track normally feel when it's not cold?
I've seen a lot about people enjoying the feeling of their local tracks, but mine always pinches and stabs and leaves me feeling raw, maybe it's because ours is a fairly old track.
