well I finally did it. Today I have started my VFF running routine. Before getting five fingers i was one of the people who absolutely hated running. I don't have good endurance at all, and i just never enjoyed running, so i never did it. But there is just something about running in five fingers that is different and fun. So I used that as my kick to start improving my cardio. So to start off i ran 1/2 a mile (on concrete sidewalks) stopped, took a small break, had a drink, and went out and did another half a mile. I could have gone a bit longer but towards the end i felt some stretching in the arch on my left foot, a hint of soreness on my lower calfs, and could feel the balls of my feet being worked. I know the biggest thing is to take it slow, so i figured ill take it as slow as i can and not over do it. I guess for me first time really doing a legitimate run in a long time and the first time doing a legitimate run in five fingers a mile isn't too bad. Hopefully i can run a day, wait a day, run a day, wait a day. and increase the mileage every week or so.

Ran in my Komodosport LSs this morning before work. Half by myself and half with my bestest running buddy Jet (see avatar). What a great way to start the day!

Track season started today! Today i ran about 3.5 miles (longest distance in FF) and I felt great! I think my coach is going to let me run in my Bikilas. This is going to be my first season to run in Vibrams, I can't wait

Ah it's soo cool your coach saw the light! Hopefully he'll change his views and recommend them from now on. Make sure to drop some educational hints for him about them once in a while...

Well he is retiring after this year, but I did wear my "20000 Years ago people who didn't believe in barefoot running GOT EATEN" shirt at practice today. And today I ran about 2.5 miles plus stadiums.

Been at the Atlantis resort due to work (yes, have had worse jobsites), and have been spending most of my time in my KSOs. Heading out to try the waterslides, then swap to my dry treks to wait on my flight home.

Track today. We got timed in the 1600m and I ran a pretty weak 6 min mile. My calves are extremely sore, but hopefully they won't bother me during my 5k this weekend. And attached is a picture I drew today to explain forefoot running to a friend who asked about my Vibrams. I though it would be cool to share.

Lol. Well I'm glad you liked it. If you think Justin would want it on the main page, you can send it to him. Today I thought I could give my calves a break by running in my Nike Frees; I was wrong. My calves were still sore and for the first time in a few months I felt actual pains in my foot. (arch supports suck!) So half way through the run, I kicked my shoes off and ran about a mile barefoot. It immediately felt better.

Hit the 1 mile mark in my VFF running yesterday. That is breakthrough #1. Breakthrough #2... my calves are not blowing up sore like they were up to this point after all my runs. My legs feel better after a 1 mile run than they did after my first 10 quarter and half's
