I work at an auto Dealership in the parts department, I manage the storeroom and do all the shipping and receiving. We are not required to wear steel toe shoes so I recently asked my supervisor if I could wear my VFF's (Black Leather KSO Treks) and he said yes. After all they offer as much foot protection as the shoes I was wearing and they are much more comfortable!

Yes that is correct, but the parts are generally very small and do not weigh much at all. It is rare when we deal with heavy items and those are moved by fork lift. All in all it is a pretty safe work place, I would not put myself in danger by wearing these shoes if it were dangerous for me. I was a safety Petty Officer in the U. S. Navy so I know what to look for and often point out and correct problems before they become an issue.

I work in an office with about 15 employees. I wear my black and brown KSO Treks to work. I've had a few comments, but nothing out of the ordinary. I'm in a back office, away from the front reception area.

My wife works at an auto parts store and she is only required to wear closed toed shoes. Her manager initially said no to her VFF Bikila LS but agreed to let her wear the Trek LS since it was all leather. Turns out that was a smart decision. Last week, a bunch of battery acid spilled all over her feet. Luckily we waterproofed her shoes using aquaseal so it beaded up. She rinsed and wiped them off good as new.

If she was wearing her Bikila LS the acid would have soaked right through to her bare foot.
