I was wearing a 42 in KSOs and I'm a 10.5 us.
I'm below a size nine (a true size 8, not even 8.5) and am a perfect fit on a 40 in closed-top VFFs and a 41 in open-top.
These kind of posts are exactly why conventional shoe sizes should never be used to gauge actual VFF sizes. We should probably end this conversation though and give the thread back to Trek Sports.

I received my Trek Sports in the mail today but I am kinda bummed because they are too small and I will have to return or exchange them. I ordered a M43 but they are definitely too small - my toes are practically curling up in the pockets.

I am pretty sure I wear a M43 in my KSOs but I am not certain because the part of the sole where the size is labeled has been worn out from use and thus is unreadable. So I was pretty much banking on memory that I am an M43 (I didn't measure my foot because I trust my memory) but maybe it is possible that I am wearing an M44 KSO. Regardless, I will be returning the Trek Sports I got today - at least CitySports makes the process easy!

So what is the material on the inside? Is it like the outside...or is it lined with a different "softer" material like the bikila?

Well I do not own the bikilas so I cannot really make a direct comparison but I tried to take a few pictures to put up here for you guys. BTW, I didn't realize that the size is labeled on the side of the shoe, I thought it was on the sole, and I just checked my KSO's and I am an M44. Doh!! It was my own dumb mistake getting the wrong size - oh well!

Also, I can say that it seems like the upper lining is what is touching your feet on the inside, similar to my KSO. Someone else maybe can chime in about that aspect too.

If you own normal KSOs and a pair of the new Sport Treks, please tell us if they feel warmer than the KSO. The reason why I ask this is because the one thing I don't like about my Bikilas is they are a little too hot for my feet. THe Bikilas make my feet sweat more than the KSOs. If the Sport Trek is hot too, then I don't think I'd be interested.

I only wore the Trek Sports to try them on and then realized they were too small. I do not think they are, or would be, warmer than the KSOs. They seem almost the same too me, apart from the fact that the upper lining feels a little different. They seem to be very breathable shoes though and I can't imagine them getting too hot.

just got my pair of trek sports.  I love the way they feel.  I am still waiting on a pair of champagne/red but the salesman at mountain high outfitters said that he had no idea when those would even be out.  Pre-ordered that pair 6/1 with the understanding that i would not be able to get them for quite some time, but when i saw a local store had the black ones i had to buy them.  Love the color scheme.  Very comfortable on my feet.  I wear a 42 in classic, and sprint, had a pair of 42 bikilas but had the dreaded toe failure, my trek sports are a 42 and they fit like a normal 42 maybe even a little snug. So far i couldn't be happier.   Grin

Got both pairs in today. The new color scheme on the Bik is NICE!!! Probably the best one...yes I've own at one point or another all the Bik colors.  Tongue

Quick impressions on the Trek Sport. Fits true to size for me at least. I'm M40 KSO, Bik, and now Trek Sport. They are comfy and relatively easy to put on. Build quality overall is nice but however my model is going back. The left big toe pocket is weird. When put on, the big toe fabric is twisted a bit. It feels weird and definitely doesn't look right. The right side is fine. This is enough to warrant an exchange.
