I spent three days doing a "walk about" in Seattle wearing my VFFs.  I can say that after living in the shoes for 3 days several things happened:

1. They fit better
2. I understand them better
3. The did not smell as bad as my feet did, even after washing my feet and powdering them.
4. I still have yet to experience the "smell"
5. I encountered a "deep blister" on my big toe.
6. Draining the "deep blister" and applying moleskin resolved the problem in less than 8 hours.
 - By draining I mean I took the point of my knife and punctured the skin and let it drain out into the surrounding tissue.
7. No hot spots
8. Hills are easier and calves are stronger.
9. Running no longer bothers my calves.
10. Cobble stones suck with bare feet.
11. The water from the fish market was no match for the Vibram rubber.
