I bought one pair of injinji socks for $12 along with my bikilas. And to be honest, I think they're a little overpriced. If I wanted to get 7 pairs for weekly usage, i'd have to pay $84!? I think I can get 36+ pairs of cotton socks for $12 and around 288+ pairs for $84. Are there any cheaper but still effective socks that don't compromise the quality and performance of injinji socks out there? I heard someone mention a military surplus store?

I don't know about military surplus for toe socks, but you can always cut the toes out of your Haynes I honestly tried that because I did not want to pay $12 for one pair of socks, even though they are high quality. What ended up happening was the sock would scrunch up and make a little ridge under my feet. Not specifically uncomfortable, but an annoyance when walking around. If you could cope with that for however long, you could do that...

I got some toesocks from eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370392171395&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:ITOf course, I don't use these for running because I have Injinji socks for that. But I do use these socks when I wear my KSOs for walking. They're just a tad thinner than the Injinji socks, and, of course, these toesocks are made of cotton and are a lot longer than the ankle-length that most people prefer.

As much as I like Injinjis, and the quality is great, the price is hard to swallow. There are some great deals on Ebay if you search "toe socks". The quality isn't at all the same, but sometimes quantity is better than quality.

Hanes cotton socks are no where near the quality or performance level of injinjis, that is why you can get so many for the same 84$ http://lmgtfy.com/?q=high+performance+toe+socks

I recently bought several prs of injinji socks bc the shop had buy 2 get 1 free. They were still pricey but so worth it in the bikilas. No more hot spots after a run. I don't regret my purchase. I do hope they last a while though.

It is not the same thing at all. No one is looking for knock off Injinji socks; only a less costly sock. Besides, have you checked to see if every commenter who has discussed toe socks has also commented on knock off Five Fingers in order to ensure your claim that we are all guilty of what you accuse? Seeing as how you are here calling us all names, you must know for certain. Do you believe it not possible for there to be a quality toe sock that is less than $12.00?

NAMES??!!?? no my friend I only called you one name. I do think there are toe sox for less, but like a better energy source to replace coal... Quality sox do not exist at this time. Besides I am not required to asertain the validity of the claim as it is a general comment on the current trend whereas many commentators on this wonderful site ( I truely Mean That) tend to look down upon knock offs in one sense and embrce cheaper options considering the cost of VFFs currently.

toes sox are not invented by Injinji; they've been around for ages.
