Two sightings in one day here in New York. A man standing on the street wearing classics, looking down, wiggling his feet. Later in the day, while sitting at an outdoor cafe table, a man jogged by a little awkwardly in VFFs. I think both were new users. Could be the New York Times article has pushed VFFs into more mainstream territory.

On the one hand I'm happy to see more people adopting barefoot shoes, on the other hand, our exclusive club may lose some of its coziness. C'est la vie.

I too sorta dread that point when seeing a VFFer isn't like a wink and a nod that you're in the know on a little known secret.  BUT as you say, that's life!

Me and some other people gave a pair of Sprints to a friend on his 30th birthday yesterday.
He'd seen mine and said he'd probably buy a pair next summer, so it was a great opportunity and made a good gift.
We gave them to him when we were drinking beer in a bar, he tried them on and kept them on for the entire night, even walking home in them when the bar closed.

He was very happy with them, and it might have been one of the better gifts I've given.

Justin, I think you're going to the wrong places in Atlanta.  I know I'm up in that area about once a month and know of about a dozen other people up there that wear them on a regular basis.  Out here in 'Paradise' I've seen 2 other people running in them (both times driving to work so I couldn't stop and say anything and have heard about a few others from my coworkers.
