So I'm constantly on the lookout for other VFFers out there -- after all, we're a pretty elite bunch, and it's always a minor thrill to see someone else who has them on.
Thus, I'm starting this thread for anyone to post VFF sightings -- post whatever details you care to share.
Outside of family members and one CrossFit instructor in Augusta (Georgia, my old town) who I personally infected with the FiveFingersFever, I've only seen one other person -- yeah ONE other person. It was at a fair in Chamblee, GA -- he was kicking the brown KSOs.

mc Southampton Uni. Flows. Who influenced me. This is the person who put together the very detailed sizing article in the resources section. Possibly the most intelligent person I have ever met.

Nice! Yeah I've already asked MC to write an article for bday shoes! He and I have corresponded over email. Once again, VFFs make for a smaller world!

Wow I totally failed -- I'd add that this is also a shortcoming of using initials for your name!
But yeah, it's also another reason I'd like MC to do my VFF interview so we can put a face to her name!

If you want to score a point or two keep the initials lower case as well.
Do not know why, but that's the way it is.

A coworker of my girlfriend (who both work in a running store) was telling my girlfriend about some guy who came in to get some running gear (shoes maybe??) and was apparently raving about "these weird shoes with individual toes." My girlfriend (not a huge VFF fan) then told her all about them and so on...
So that means at least one other person in my area knows what they are!
Also, next week I may be demoing a instrument (I work in a biochem lab at the FDA) for some visiting Congressman ... maybe I'll be able to wear my VFFs there and attract some real federal attention!! (Although technically its a safety violation to wear them in the lab....)

Well this is a first. Last night, after a solid four days of moving, mostly wearing my VFF KSOs or Classics and having incredibly sore/tired feet, we walked from our new place to Flying Biscuit (Atlanta staple -- one off McLendon near Little 5 Points). The place isn't too busy but we are saddled up next to another four seater table.
Towards the end of our meal (And theirs, as well), I pick out the words "separated toes" and my ears start perking up b/c I see that one of the four people at their table is looking at the guy's feet. I pick out the words "posture" and then "Time's best inventions 2007" and whisper to my wife "he must have VFFs on" -- she sort of leans over and, yep, he had them on.
It was at this point that my less-than-shy wife says something like "he has some too!" I chime in with "I don't have them on but I have two pairs!" My wife adds "he even started a fan website for them - birthdayshoes.com" (chuckle, "oh like naked feet." A small exchange goes back and forth at which point I say something about us being an elite group of people. And that was that.
Didn't catch his name, but I think he probably lives in the neighborhood. I'll keep my eye out. He was kickin the black KSOs.

I work in a lab myself, but wear my KSO's now and then. I think of it along the lines of casual Friday. But only when I'm not going to be working with anything nasty.

Yeah, I occasionally wear them in the lab when I forget to take them off and put more appropriate shoes on - I work in a cell culture/nanotech lab so it's never really "safe" to wear them...but I haven't had any issues yet!

Last summer I was trail racing the 5 Peaks Trail Running Series in the Southern Alberta series. I ran one of them in VFFs and changed into them after my other three. At two of them, I saw other racers wearing them, too: one ran in them and one changed into them after. I was amazed.
Other than that, I've only seen one other person wearing them that wasn't one of the two people I've 'infected with VFF fever': my spouse and a girlfriend of mine. And that's in 14 months. I'm anticipating a lot more sightings, though, as more information is getting out about the 'badness' of conventional shoes (not to mention "Born to Run" by Christopher McDougall).

Fleeting glance of some black Classics (probably) as the subway doors closed. In Brooklyn again. Older male this time. VFF sighting two days in a row. Something's afoot here in the Big Apple.

Har har. Nice! It's a rare day indeed when I see anyone with VFFs on here in ATL. Only happened twice in the past four months or so.

When I was at Maker Faire (a DIY, crafty, geeky, science type event) I finally spotted one girl wearing them. She was sporting the new purple classics. I wanted to say "Hi, nice shoes." but she was busy demonstrating one of the bike machines.
Other than that, I was surprised that no one else was wearing these shoes at Maker Faire. It was more of an alternative cultural event.
