Parkour is getting from point A to B in the most efficient matter like a straight line.

Free running has more aesthetics in it and is like a zig zag here and there from point A to B.

Anyway would V5F be good or would you need a cushioned shoe for that? I saw a YouTube video about free running in vibrams; it was a 2006 video in Roma or something. Pretty neat.

Your in luck. I'm 16 and I do parkour. I made the switch from shoes to a completely v5f or barefoot life 3 months ago. Your body changes and adapts to being barefoot. You'll run with more efficiency and much faster. You'll be able to jump higher. BUT you'll need to scale down the drops until you master the technique. Doing parkour in vibrams or barefoot teaches perfect technique. If you land wrong it will hurt, but you will learn through failure how to land right. And depending on how old you are or how bad your body is messed up from shoes, it will take time for your body to adapt. I was pretty much unable to do parkour for a few weeks while my body was changing. But after you make the transition it is insanely worth it. It just makes moving more fun all together. Hell, even walking to class is fun for me now. So if you have the money definately check them out, and listen to your body and take it as slow as you need to.
