One lady working at a store in Universal Studios approached my wife and I and asked us if the shoes where comfortable because she has seen people using them in the park. We where wearing our Komodos. Then one of her coworkers jumped in the conversation and said that she haves the shoes and are the most comfortable shoes she haves!
I your wife was wearing purple ones, I think I may have saw you - last week ? Yes!

If your wife was wearing purple ones, I think I may have saw you - last week ? Yes! Ha ha - small world - I was the guy sitting on the bench drying out my Bikilas after some 'get wet ride', as you went past you said something like "nice shoes" and I said something similar in response. I was quite surprised/dissapointed as to how few times I saw people in VFFs - the GF claims that she saw more peeps wearing VFFs in the 20mins we were in the Travel Country store (on the 1st day of the hols), than the rest of the 2 week holiday put together - but then we were in a tourist area - lots of shiny, bright, new marshmallow shoes to be seen - the Nike & NB stores must have done well...

I was in my local Birkenstock store picking up my Treks and contemplating a pair of Jaya's when I heard someone say, "Man! you must have been wearing those a long time, you put them on like their regular shoes." I had to smile to myself and answered that I had. Well, this guy was really curious and started asking other questions about my "weird" shoes. I then launched into my spiel about Fivefingers. The guy was so impressed he tried on a couple different styles and ended up buying a pair for himself! And I got a great discount on my Treks!

Yes, Paul. I remember you. When I see someone in VFFs I try to say to them that they have nice shoes! I'll start to ask permission to take a picture with them to post them in Facebook or here. After all, we are an elite club! ...It's a small world after all!

...It's a small world after all!
Not another chorus! I give in. resitance to the catchiness is futile - sing along now : It's a world of laughter A world of tears It's a world of hopes And a world of fears There's so much that we share That it's time we're aware It's a small world after all There is just one moon And one golden sun And a smile means Friendship to ev'ryone Though the mountains divide And the oceans are wide It's a small world after all It's a small world after all It's a small world after all It's a small world after all It's a small, small world. Dont forget the la, la, las too

I just got my first pair of VFFs 4 or 5 weeks ago. I've had people laugh, point, smirk. I've had people ask if they are uncomfortable. I've had people say "those look sooo comfortable". I've had people run up to ask what they are and where they can buy some. I carried my son on my back in a woven wrap while running errands until he was 2.5 years old (now he cooperates with holding my hand and walking). I got the same type of reactions with having a child on my back as I am getting with the Vibrams. I've had some people put their noses in the air intially and now they want to buy some I think my 15 year old daughter will be wearing them some day. Her boyfriend informed us yesterday that he was going to buy some for himself.

The recent comments have not been on the vibrams, but on the absence of them, many of the comments have been such as: Where are your shoes (moving the fingers as to make me understand that the shoes they talk about are the toed shoes)?, or What about your footies?, or Why did you not bring your toed shoes today?

Sometimes I tell people that no, they aren't comfortable because why wouldn't I want to be in pain for the sake of fashion (sometimes I get cranky AndyB, NH.

Vibram has Ambassador cards they will send you that you can hand out to inquisitive people. I have some, but never have them with me at the right moments. I know there are other forum members that have them too. Maybe someone can scan one in, as I am not in a position where I can do so.
