This is a reply I posted on Facebook why I wear Vibrams:

They weren't found false, they haven't be proven one way or another. I was born with a deformed pelvis. My left hip is 9mm higher then my right. and my legs were severely in turned. I straighten my feet by concentrating on holding them outward when I was a kid. Both sides of my family are prone to have hammer toes as well. These shoes cause you to walk on the front of your feet vs heel first which is how people walk in regular shoes. I used to use a heel lift and tore out the outer sides of my shoes. Also when I landed flat foot I would rack myself. I would constantly sprain my ankles. After wearing these for 3 years now my toes have straitened out and have nearly doubled in length. My knee and ankle pain are mostly gone. I have greater stability and balance. My lower legs and feet look totally fit. I still have problems standing still but now can walk over 6 miles and can stay on my feet for over a hour.
