Running a 50k ultra in July and am somewhat concerned about keeping sand/rocks/badgers out of my kicks.  I have many pairs of normal gaiters for hiking, was hoping there would be a less clunky option, something like a strech buff wrap.

I dont know how well the bottom would hold up for 50k but what about old fashioned baseball stirrups?

Not sure what you have tried already or if these will be any less bulky.

This is a little more expensive and likely what you are accustomed to regarding bulkiness.

These are pretty cheap and seem like they would be very lightweight being Nylon.

So be sure when you step.
Step with care and great tact and remember that Life's a Great Balancing Act.
Just never forget to be dexterous and deft.
And never mix up your right foot and your left.
