So I can trust those heel straps to do a pretty good job of keeping my from sliding around? I think I'll go ahead and get them. Worst case scenario I can use them for lift at the gym and random casual wear and save my KSOs for running. Thanks for the info.
bigtrucky, I'm not saying that. I have no CLUE if those heel straps will keep your foot from sliding around. I was scared away by them and now have a pair that's too small. If I'd have gotten my regular size with the enormous heel cup, there's every chance I may dislike them just as much as the pair I have right now for being too loose and big. I have no way to tell you if it will work for you. All I'm saying is that this is a common problem with the Sprints fit and if you have another option, you should try them on and see if they feel any more comfortable. These shoes don't really break in. The only pair I've ever owned that has "broken in" was my Smartwools after I inverted the heel around twenty times and wore them through the pain for over a year. I've had my Sprints just as long, worn them just as frequently, and they have not given any break in at all so if I'm going to be in shoes for more than 2 hours, I tend to grab my KSO's or Flows and bypass the Sprints altogether.

Well, I ran into someone at the gym who had sprints on, and even though he didn't do much running in them, he said the straps do a pretty good job. I'll see if I can run around the store a little bit and see what happens. But if the fit just isn't right I'll probably just save the money and use it for a RoadGlove or Minimus. Thanks for your help.

Both my pairs of sprints are the same M42 as my kso classics and flow treks and fit just fine with the extra room in the heel. I havent ran in the new pair yet they seem a little more snug in the length and the over arch strap isnt as long but the original blue pair are perfect for running in for summer 5 and 10k they are the pair i goto all the time and am a bit sad they are starting to show wear and seperate where all the straps come together they seem to be a little less tough than the newer version

Just thought I'd update the thread for anyone in the future interested in buying sprints. I ended up getting a size 46, and I have no problems with it at all. There is a decent amount of room in the heel when I'm sitting, but it reduces a lot when I stand. It feels fine overall, but I can feel it being a little stiffer on the inside compared with my KSOs (size 45). It might be because it hasn't been broken in yet.
Also, I ended up getting it for $30! I went into the store looking to look for an everyday 0 drop shoe, and the salesman pulled out a couple VFFs they had on clearance and this one fit. They also had a KSO Trek and KSO in size 47 for $29, but that was just way too big for me.

I'm in the group with the strange heel cup fit. Here's a picture of my Komodos and Sprints. Notice the heel cup fit difference. Overall I like the sprints, just not so much than my others. I wear M45.

I also ended up buying a pair of Sprints a size bigger when CitySports had them for $25. The heel looks huge, but they fit SO much better. I'm giving the smaller pair to my sister who has slightly smaller feet than me.
