how much does a gps for running cost? in the reasonable range?
A Garmin 305 is $148 at amazon.  (and has an average of 4.5 out of 5 stars for the 1,170 reviews)

That is about the best price I have seen.  (not really an average, but at least you can get it for that price.)

I can also recommend the Garmin 305. I bought it from Amazon when is was priced at $158. I really love this thing. You can do some comparisons on Garmin's web site. I looked upon the 305 as the value leader for the amount of features and battery life.

got myself a garmin 305 on monday, but only got to test it today since i had some weird pain on the top of the heel bone on the inside of the foot. weird because it never hurt there while running just someday when i touched it, it hurt like hell. massaging seemed to inflame it leading to pain while running. anyway, after a week of no vffs everything is fine again and this is my run from today, last one at this location since i will be moving to the city on saturday (still with forest access within 5 minutes though):

This isn’t a run, it’s me mowing the yard.

That is both cool and hilarious.
