Last night I went for a walk/jog in my new VFF Classics. I don't exercise regularly and I'm really out of shape. I walked when I could no longer jog and I jogged when I felt like I could push through it again. I did my best to really analyze my stride and gait. I have a lot of improvements to make but I really feel like these shoes are going to help a lot. I traveled about 2-3 miles altogether. I had a very good experience overall, regardless of how sore I am.  Grin

Now to my point:

When I was running it was hard to see the pavement at times because of the darkness. At one point I noticed that I was stepping on some berries that had fallen from a tree. The berries squishing between my toes was a really cool feeling. I would say that this has been the ultimate squish so far.

What is your ultimate squish?

I don't know if this is something that you would know of in the US, I have a nasty time in the darkness whenever I take the dog out, I seem to stand on the occasional Snail or slug (a snail with no house/shell) then my feeling is oooooooooooouuuu !

I go barefoot, but my dog wears shoes.

I would guess the worse squish would be dog poo and trying to get that smell off your VFFs. I'm lucky that hasn't happened to me though. The worst "squish" I've had is stepping on a salamander in the dark, barefoot. It was nasty, but more a crunch than a squish. Sad

Haha.  I almost stepped on a lizard last night on my run.

We had way above average rainfall in Connecticut this year and the slug population is astronomical. It's almost like an infestation. They don't bother me too badly but my wife has been on slug alert all year. If I step on them so be it. Other than that I don't have any ultimate squish stories. Where I walk it's more litter, glass, motor oil and ocassional road kill hazards.

  Shocked

So far the only squish I've encountered was mud - though I did jog past some dog poop the other day and was disturbed by the thought of stepping in some.  (I've run over glass by accident - no harm resulted - but poop wasn't something I'd thought to worry about!)

Worst thing I've run on so far was field stubble, which was not squishy but SHARP!   Angry

Field stubble. Agree, really have to be careful with that stuff. Never ceases to amaze me how they always find the gaps between your toes. Given the choice I think I would rather run over stones. Less chance of being skewed.

My ultimate squish had to be bull poo. A lonnng time ago, my dad left his shop across the road unlocked. It was dark and I slipped into his slippers to run over and shut it up. I am on my way back and hear something. There is a freakin bull loose in our yard! I'm talking BIG bull. He charged for me. We had a chicken pen in the yard and we were playing round and round it, me trying to get away from him. I make a dash for the house and slide right through a big pile of bull poo. He was right behind me. Funny how fast you can move when your bum's on the line.  Undecided
