I was in a weird/funny/I-Don't-Care mood, and someone asked if my Treks were comfortable.  My flipped response was "Heck no, but each one of my piggies are Diva's, and they all want their own dressing room!"  The look was utter shock and dismay from one person Huh, and a 'yeah, I know what you mean" head-shake from another.  Needless to say, that shut 'em up!   Grin

Walking around in shorts and my Xeroshoes sandals this afternoon..I got some odd looks from people.

One lady asked me why I'm waltzing around in shorts and sandals on New Year's Eve..I just said "I'm used to the cold..)

"Are you a hobbit?" from a child at the weekend. I was wearing my black KSOs.

I was told by a fellow runner the other day that her feet felt cold just looking at my feet in my Xero's and another guy asked if I could run in those, those flip flops.

Ran into a guy wearing a pair of Komodosports in Safeway tonight.Looked down at his shoes and did a double-take.
He told me "Nice shoes".

(I was wearing my Speed XCs.)

I have yet to run into anyone else who is wearing VFFs, though I have been told about someone a few streets away from me who does have some.

I thought, "Nice shoes. Are they comfortable?" was the usual joke.

I've tried, "hey, your shoes are stupid," or "hey, nice shoes."  The reaction is either shock or the obligatory "thanks."  I've even had to wiggle my vff's at them for them to realize the irony/joke.
People tend to not want to interact with other people very much any more.  Shocking someone into a conversation can be a good thing Smiley

On Friday evening, I was wearing my black/grey/orange KSOs and standing at a service station filling up the car with fuel. A little lad came round to my side of the fuel pumps and said,

"Hey! What's wrong with your shoes?"

"There's nothing wrong with my shoes." said I. He then wandered off.

I've noticed the same thing. I usually say 'nice shoes' to get a conversation started, but everyone feels afraid to talk about their Vibrams.
