Should I return these Vibram Trek LS (Burn/Stain)?

I bought the Brown Trek LS. On three of the sides it is beautiful.

But on one side, there is a black stain that looks like a burn. You can feel it with your finger.

Should I return them? Is this common? Has anyone gotten something like this before? Thanks.

looks like a mole or something from the leather.  it does not really look like a stain.  take them back if it bothers you.  it should not affecting anything about the performance of the shoe.  just consider it a beauty mark on the leather.

The Vibram site does say that the leather may have a few cosmetic marks on it (eg. healed cuts).

It looks like a cigarette burn, although I am sure it is not that.  It could be a dab of glue or something.  If it were me, I'd exchange them but that is just me and my perfectionist like ways.  If it does not bother you, it is certainly not going to adversely affect the performance or longevity of the shoes.  Ultimately, you are the one that sunk a lot of money into the shoes.  If it bothers you, return them.  If not, keep them and enjoy them.

Trust me, I'm just as OCD as you are about this stuff, so I can relate.   However, Vibram has had a lot of QC issues (at least they have in the past...I haven't bought a new pair recently), so if that's the only flaw and the seams or other things don't fall apart after two weeks of wear then count yourself lucky.  How big is this spot, anyway?  It's hard to tell, but from the photo I'm guessing it's a few millimeters.  If it really is that tiny I'd say don't worry about it, and once you've worn the shoes a few weeks you'll probably forget it's there.

After extensive use it will look just like that so... I would keep them.
