Just received my first pair of Classics through GSS. Their service was warm and friendly, and the shoes showed up quickly. I give them two thumbs up.

Had no idea GSS was taking bikila pre-orders, will have to give them a call! I ordered some classics a few weeks back and they arrived in about 3 days (plus with no tax, a 20% discount and free shipping from VA to NC I actually felt guilty for such a great deal)
My father was in the US Army for 26 years (Special Forces), my brother-in-law was SF and is now a police Lt. heading SWAT and NARC teams, 2 sisters went through ROTC (1 now in ATF), 3 uncles in the armed forces, 4 cousins, and plenty of friends. I definitely appreciate those that serve and any who support them. Politics aside, these men and women do what our leaders ask of them to protect us and many across the globe so the rest of us can spend our days worrying about important things like when the Spring 2010 VFF shipments will arrive.

yes, I placed an order with them from Anne as GSS gear - its not an "order", but an estimate and when they come in they notify me and ask if I am interested in placing the order. something like that - but basically its a "preorder" i guess. email or call Anne and she can give you more details.

p.s. Why does your Navy friend need to buy anything? I thought every one in the military was entirely dependent on the government. Just curious. He has some leeway with what is allowed with his personal kit (pouches on his vest, etc). The government supply the armour and everything, but he prefers to buy some stuff personally if it fits his needs better (different pouches for his medical kit, or his magazines, or a different rucksack, etc).

I like how you put that!! Really appreciate your comments, saw someone who posted and they felt they couldn't buy something from GSS because of their support for the military and military functions. Just because GSS sells a lot of stuff to the military doesn't mean we need to bash them, because they do an excellent job they make life a lot easier for those who are willing to put their life on the line in one way shape or form! I've been in 21 years and remind myself and my troops that "we all volunteered for this life nobody forced us to take the job". Really wish they could get their website working but considering the things they sell and how busy they are I can wait for it to get fixed.

I agree, especially on this historic day! Support our troops and support our President in a time of war.

Does anyone have info on what's the deal with Vibram shortages? I ordered my size 42 KSO in February, but they didn't have them. Still nothing. Looks the same on all other webshops.

Vibram FiveFinger's US CEO, Tony Post, reported that two new factories have been opened (currently in trial) to add to the two that were opened in December. Their production is up significantly. Check out the details in the FaceBook report.

If you have an REI membership they have a 20% off coupon on any one product. Guess what I'm buying with mine.

they might be nice, good prices and so on, but their homepage is definitely very sad. Anyone with two brain cells and a heart must surely regret so much money being spent in this world on arms, jet fighters and stuff. The fact they're being proud taking part in such nonsense really puts me off, I think I'ld rather even pay more money elsewehere.
I'm going to have to agree with this.Even the state seal at the gas pumps here in Va is a depiction of violence and death. geographical location + cultural conditioning = patriotism that said it's kind of like debating religion at the family dinner. peace

I went to make an order from GSS and was told that it would be as long as August before the shoes would be in. I asked why and they said that there was a order problem. I called Vibram to express my displeasure at the production and shipping. They informed me that GSS doesn't even have an order in for May, June or July. That would explain the back-order situation wouldn't it.
Sad. I really wanted two pairs. One for me and one for a "new recruit".
