hmmmm.....not quite sure that I am liking the big thing that would go between the big toe....looks to be a bit bulky. interesting idea though.....don't think that I could do those at work like I can my black classics.

dopies have been discussed quite a bit here: http://birthdayshoes.com/forum/index.php?topic=147.0but anyway, I use my classics as my flip flops pretty much now because I can get them on just as quick, but when summer rolls back around I may be interested in testing out some dopies. The skateboard pics I've seen of people wearing them are awesome.

and as far as looking much better than VFF's... I think that's debatable.

Have come across these before. Looking at the top pick looks quite a bit oof arch support and a negative heel. I can also imagine the toes being in a state of flexion to keep them on. Not for me.

I've worn Dopies a couple of summers. They have a thinner sole than any other flip flops or open sandals that I know of, though a little thicker than VFFs. They are very light weight. The toe piece looks big from the top, but the actual space it takes between your toes is probably less than most flip flops. The rubber is very thin there. The arch, while raised slightly, doesn't really act as support. The heel is not negative--it's the same height as the front part of the sole. Dopies with the strap stay on better than flip flops, but are less secure than hiking sandals. If you're looking for a minimal thin soled sandal, they're worth trying out.

Looks negative to me in the top pic. It is not touching the floor the same as the front. Still, if you have worn them and I have not, then the pic must be misleading.

Yeah, they appear negative, but I will defer to anyone that's tried them. Personally, I can't see a reason in the world to wear sandals ever again after finding VFF. I mean, Classics are minimal, and they don't flip or flop (the most annoying part of flip-flops).

dopies would be slightly and I emphasize SLIGHTLY quicker to put on over classics. Plus you have less of your foot covered

Liking these or not is obviously a personal thing. If you like open sandals, they are about the barest you can get. No flipping and flopping with the strap.
