Got mine yesterday, sadly they were too long. Returned them today for a size down. For the amount of time I had them on they were quite comfortable, and love the width of the toe box!

What size did you order and how did it compare to your VFF size? Did you upsize based on the previous posts and then look at the updated sizing chart? Just trying to figure out how you got too long of a pair.

Normally I wear a 40-41 (VFF and others) and based on their sizing disclaimer "STEM footwear runs 1/2 size small" I order 42

Okay, here are a few pics of the Survival Origins (the brown ones). I opted for these because I have no nice brown shoes, but I wanted to also keep them neutral for work. Plus, a video showing their flexibility. I am curling and flexing my toes inside the shoe: https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/XRs1sOtN2KkKZpWS56wSPA?feat=directlink

Odd. I wear a 40 KSO, 41 Classic and I tried the 41 in Stems and my big toe was protruding out the front of the shoe. They were definitely too short. I had to go with the 42. My sizing seems spot on with what others had experienced. Now it seems that Stem has yet again redone their sizing chart and completely removed the useful chart that compared their fit to KSOs. Not sure why they did that.

They are spot on regarding the KSOs. Other later models have not been so accurate. My KSOs are not the notorious black ones that run small, but rather the brown/brown variant. I printed out Stem's original sizing chart, which seemed to be off by one size, but I never re-printed it once they fixed it and now it seems they have removed it completely. I am curious as to why they did so, unless they were getting flack about it for some reason.

See, they are true to size in one color, but not in another. that is why I think they make a bad comparison.

I got my Survival Origins on Saturday and I love them. I also have Jaya LRs and Merrell Pure Gloves, and these are the most comfortable of all three. I was really concerned about the sizing due to the posts here and the "RUNS A FULL SIZE SMALL" on the Stem website. I wear a women's size 9 and usually a size 40 in European sizing. My Jaya LRs are size 40. I almost sized up to 41, but something told me to just stick to my gut feeling and get the 40s. They fit perfectly (with and without socks). My toes are about a half finger width from the ends of the shoes and the width is perfect. My feet are somewhere between medium and wide width. I actually feel like these shoes make my feet look smaller, which is kind of nice. I really like the brown color, and I think I'm going to get a pair in the other color because I love these so much. My thought is to use the brown ones for casual wear, and the gray ones for the gym, going on walks outside, etc. Maybe even Zumba. (I wear my Jayas for that currently.) One of my favorite things about these shoes is the low profile on the back. It doesn't rub my ankle, which is often an issue for me with other shoes.
I hope to see Stem do well and come out with more colors and styles eventually. It would be amazing to have a pair of shoes this comfortable that could be worn in the office environment. I can't wear sneakers to work except on casual Fridays.

What size stems did you get pooch? I wear a 39 classic, so should I get the stems in 40 or 39? My husband is a 43 in classics so should I get the 44 or 43 in stems? Updating the sizing chart has confused me more.
