Never tried them but I know a lot of knug-fu people seem to like them as well as parcour community. Apperenly they are suppose be very thin and the sole is very flexable.

Certainly worth a try.

I have a pair. Got em from China last time I went there. They fall in the realm of chuck taylors but not exactly. Pretty thin and flexible. My only gripe is the stinky rubber smell.

Yup I have a pair they are very flexible but I would say the sole is to thick to be anywhere near considered minimalist IMO. The sole is also very soft and squishy. I would say comparing the sole to chuck taylors is pretty good comparison.

I got a pair of the black high-tops and have to agree that they are very similar to chuck taylors. The sole is about a millimeter shallower than what you see of the yellow on the outside. They offer a fair amount of grip though as you can see the ribbing on the sole is very pronounced. Probably why the martial artists like them, handy for climbing walls and such too. I read a complaint that someone with a wide foot didn't like the high-tops as they were too narrow but this suits me and is why I bought them myself. I haven't tried the others so I can't compare.

I see a wide range of prices online, €50, $12, £40, £15 etc.
Is there a lot of cheap copies around that would account for the price? One of my friends told me about his experience of this.

Looks interesting.  I have been looking around for a cheap minimalist option.  I just have a problem with buying something like shoes online, especially since my foot is on the wider side.
