I just got my long awaited Bare-XF 210's and while the shoes are very nice the rubber smells terrible. I wore them to work today hoping that they just needed to air out a bit but sitting at my cubicle it is almost unbareable. Has anyone else had this issue with Inov-8 or any other brand shoes? I'm assuming it has something to do with the mold release agent used in making the soles and will go away eventually but that time can't come soon enough.

New rubber has a stank... it's just what it is.  Everything I have ever gotten with a large amount of rubber has had a certain odor to it.  It just needs time to dissipate

I was going to scrub them with some soap and water if they weren't better by the weekend but the smell seems to be slowing going away.
