Ok everyone. I just got back from REI to get the appropriate size for my 1st pair of 5 finger toes. The guy that helped me seemed less then thrilled, anyway I can't wear the darn things. My feet are small he told me I need a size 34 which I would have had to order on line. I asked if I could try the smallest they had to get the experience. I believe he gave me a 36 I could not get then to go over my toes or even in between my toes ( sigh ). He told me not everyone can wear these shoes. He suggested Merrell by Vibram and so I tried those on and bought them. Has this ever happened to anyone they you may know of? Disappointed  Sad.

The Merrells are a great minimalist shoe.  I had a pair a while ago.  They didn't work for me because I have wide mutant feet.  Are there any other places near you that might sell VFFs?  Some online companies like CitySports (check out the STORE link) have a return policy so long as you're careful when you try them on.

I just checked and it looks like the Kayak Shed has some KSOs in that size.  I've ordered from them before.

I would order them online through Vibram's own site... they have a return policy so if they don't fit, you just pay the shipping to send them back and they either can ship you another size or refund you your money.

Even though they are the offical site of VFFs doesnt mean they have them. I think it took a couple of weeks for the komodos and the speeds to come up on the site. Even then they were out of stock. Just a heads up.

Which style did you try on? That makes a lot of difference because some are tough to get on and others you can do with no hands Tongue. J

@ delucio I honestly I am not sure what style I tryed on. Like I said the guy seemed  less then thrilled to deal with me. I am going to try going to try some were else and spend a little more time trying some on. I also looked on u tube for videos of how to put them on and wish I had done that before I went. It's not the end of the world if I can not wear them.

So you couldn't get them onto your feet? Was this a sizing thing, or a lack of patience by the associate thing?

My brother in law can't wear them- his toes are too long- and by that i mean like mutant long LoL- but i imagine their are other foot types- like really wide, or really narrow feet that wouldn't work well.
