I've been looking for some information about transitioning to walking in Vibrams and haven't found a whole lot. In particular I'd like a better idea of how I'm supposed to be walking. Walking ball of the foot first is kind of slow and I worry when I'm going for a mid-strike I'm doing more heel than I should be. What kind of soreness/pain is normal for transitioning to walking? How long does it typically take to transition to walking in Vibrams full time?

I go barefoot, but my dog wears shoes.

There are a few walking in vff threads on the boads. Try the search bar.

I actually did try searching but I didn't realize that the search feature only searches the area you are currently browsing, not all areas of the forum. Thanks for the tip, I tried again from the main page and got some results. One thread actually had additional links, which I'll post here to hopefully help anyone else out that is confused by the board's UX.

Transitioning takes some time, don't rush or you'll hurt yourself. What really help me was to practice the form a for a couple of weeks for short durations. Then when I thought I had it down I went for a long walk (wearing sprints on pavement), about 2hrs. Started off kind of heel strike/mid foot but the further I went the more I used mid/forefoot landing. Toward the end of the 2hr mark it was all forefoot. Now it seems like 2nd nature, don't have to think about it...it just happens.
