Hi,
I have low arches , am an over pronator, and have owned my first pair of VFFs(classics) for a few day now. I have been enjoying them, but have been experiencing alot of discomfort in my right pinky toe. Could this be due to inflexibility of my toe? If so, will it get better as my toe limbers up? How long will it take and can I do anything to help it along? Or could the pain be caused for some other reason? Please help.

Hi Dirk,
My classics are black. It's wierf because, even though both feet and toes seem to be the same size, my left pinky is not having any problems at all, while my left one is very sore.

H there, What you are experiencing is I think not unusual. My pinky toe was the last the to adjust to my assorted VFFs, but adjust it did. I can't remember how long it took or doing anything special. But if you are feeling very uncomfortable, I suggest slipping the classic off and just stretching out your toes and moving them around.
Hang in there, it should get better pretty soon.

I'm starting to have the same issue in my black KSOs, but not in my black KSO Treks. The pinky toe on my right foot feels a bit uncomfortable. I know there's a minor size difference between the M39 KSO and M39 KSO Trek. I've been running basically once a week in my VFFs and this started about a week ago.

Thanks guys, I think you're right The size feels right so , I think that my little toe is just taking longer to adjust. It's alot stiffer and less flexible than the other ones and even curls in a little and slightly under the toe next to it. Pitiful little thing is probably just misshapen from all the typical footwear it's been subjected for the last forty years.

I have the same problem with my right pinky toe in black classics. The toe pocket is probably too small, but everything else fits so I deal with it. It would probably be best to stretch that toe pocket out, but I'm lazy. On the bright side, your feet will probably shorten up as your arches develop and it will make your classics more roomy.

Hmm, I have this problem too. It seems like my right pinky is 1/4" longer than my left, and sorta cramps up or feels uncomfortable in the Vibrams. Doesn't really go away even though I've been wearing them on and off for a month plus now.

I had the same issue with pinky toe irritation on the right foot in my brown/brown KSOs. Although my toes are not differeing lengths from one foot to the other. Eventually it went away. If your pinky toes are two different sizes, you may want to consider seeking out the morton's toe mod posts in this forum. You may be able to successfully stretch your toe to the point of zero discomfort. Hope this helps.

So be sure when you step. Step with care and great tact and remember that Life's a Great Balancing Act. Just never forget to be dexterous and deft. And never mix up your right foot and your left.
