Are all VFF's like this? With the Drilex-covered insole stopping short of the ends of the toes, so that the ends of your toes are touching the plastic outsole? It's very annoying for me... when I scrunch my toes, the edge of the insole basically scrapes my toes. I have yet to get blisters from the edge, but it's not very comfortable. I think the shoes fit me really well... So does one just have to get used to this?

That seems odd to me. Others may have another encounter like this, but I have 5 pairs of Bikilas and have not seen this problem before. I have returned a pair of vff's for warranty repair. I do not know if they will do it in this case, but it might be worth a try. Be well!

Mine are like that. I've been ignoring it. At $48 from City Sports's website, I can't really complain.

I wonder if there's something we can actually do to fix it?

Yeah like some sort of patch job? Maybe we could just glue the ends down so that there's a smooth transition there with no floppy bit of fabric at the end? The shoes still have to be machine-washable... Would rubber cement work?

Well, I don't sense that it's a floppy end as much as the material actually stopping short of where it should. It's hard to tell when you've been wearing them for most of the day.
I wonder if there's a way to maybe obtain the material used for the footbed and put a little extra piece on the end with some shoe goo to make a virtually seamless fix? Maybe that's asking too much to find the foot bed material.
In my opinion if this is actually a widespread flaw, it should have been a recall instead of a sale. You wouldn't drive a car that had a chunk of rubber missing from the tires. Kind of makes you wonder what's going through their mind... Vibram is still getting the sales but we're getting an improperly produced product that isn't indicated as flawed.

Were these all sale items? Perhaps getting rid of "B" stock? I am the first to jump on a sale of vff's, but this is making me think twice. (old saying- You get what you pay for- Seems to hold true here)

Well, I'd say we need to find out who else bought the sale Bikilas from CitySports to figure it out. Poll?
Mine are blue. How about yours pesty?
If they were indeed B-stock Bikilas, they should have been indicated as such as the reason for the sale. Really unfair to us if this is the case and they were using CitySports to offload them online.

Mine were also from CitySports - men's Bilkas (white/blue/greyish) M41...
After weeks and weeks of break in, I can finally wear them, but still get blisters and pain in the toes. At first I thought it was the size (I wear M41 in Classics) but now reading this thread I have to wonder about them. Blarg... I'm almost to the point of selling/giving them away and trying another style.

I've found that I can run in them without problems... So I haven't had the drive to send them back to Vibram and use the warranty. I don't even know if Vibram would be able to replace them with the same size or anything. I also seriously doubt my ability to "repair" them in a way that makes them more comfortable.
