Hey there,

I've only been walking in my VFFs on and off for a few weeks now and my right ankle is getting some pain. It's more of an annoying pain, there's no swelling around the ankle more of an aching pain.

Would it be a good idea to back off on the VFFs cos I hardly run in them at all?

I would recommend backing off a little bit.  More than likely, it's transition pains.  It's your body telling you to slow down.

How long have you been running in VFFs?  What's your weekly mileage?

well, i really just walk in them and mileage is hard to determine. sometimes i wear them for most of the day (weekends and days off during the week) others i wear in the afternoons after wearing boots for most of the morning. I've had them for a good 2-4 weeks atm but like i said i don't really run in them more like walk in them.

It doesn't have to be running.  To me it sounds like the break in period for your ankle.  I had some pain in my ankles and went through a month of foot cramps when I first transitioned simply because the muscles were being used in a new way.

Just be smart and know the difference between some soreness and something more serious.

well, i think it's more of aching pains when i wear my sprints but nothing that would annoy me. i guess the break-in period is different for others and probably a good idea to balance it out with normal shoes and the VFFs.
