I was running in my classics over the weekend and I got a pretty nasty blisters just under my toes.  It was pretty painful.  This was only after 2 miles of running.  I didn't tighten the strap because it causes pain in the top of my foot and I don't think it would have prevented the blister.  The causes of the blister was from the shoe sliding under my foot.  The weird thing was I only got the blister on my right foot.  My left foot is completely fine.  Either the sizing is different in the shoes slightly or sizing up to a 41 when the big red foot clearly says 40 is not such a good idea in the Sprint and Classic models.  It makes sense if you want them for a more causal shoe but it is quite painful if you try any strenuous activities in them.

I was at a local dealer yesterday and had the opportunity to try on a pair of 40 Sprints.  I currently own size 41 Sprints and they were the first pair I owned.  I did what the website suggested and I sized up.  I think over time my foot has gotten a few millimeters smaller making the 40 Sprint feel a lot better now then when I tried it on in the summer of last  year.  I am going to try and find another dealer in the area that has a pair of 40 Classics to determine if the European website is correct and new VFF owners looking at purchasing the Sprints or Classics should purchase the size the big red foot recommends.

The big red foot isn't very accurate. I trust the US sizing chart. I wear a w38 kso and a w39 classic. A w38 classic was too small and a w39 kso gave me blisters.

I think the key to your problem is that your feet changed.

The best way to git vffs is to properly measure your foot and follow the US chart. The big red foot told me that I needed a 39 KSO and that was wrong. My husband also wears a m42 kso and a 43 classic.

don't have experience with the Big Red Foot, but I think there are quite a few of us who find the European/Aussie sizing chart more appropriate for us, i.e. same size for both KSO and Classics/Sprint.  this is not to say the US chart is wrong, but some of us have feet that are in-between lengths and the classics/sprints can follow the KSO size.

My local shoe store got in a pair of classics in size 40.  I might get the opportunity to try them on today.  I will make another post some time tomorrow as an update.

I think if your foot got a few inches smaller, one size wouldn't be enough  Grin

I tried on the 40 Classics over the weekend.  That is the size shoe I should be wearing.  If anyone else out there has both KSOs and sprint/classics, do you wear the same size or did you size up like the Vibram chart suggests?  If you sized up have you recently tried on the same size as the KSO in classics/sprints?

glad it worked out!  yes, I said in my earlier posting in this thread, quite a few of us wear the same size KSO/sprint/Classic. I too started out a size larger then downsized to wearing the same as my KSO.  My foot measurement is right in between two sizes though.
