I just went to REI the other day to try on the regular KomodoSport and the LS version. I wear a W41 in both KSOs and TrekSports. The 41 KomodoSport was a perfect fit, felt a lot like the TrekSport, but with a more comfortable fit on top. The LS version, however, was gigantic on me in the 41. The toes were way too long and overall it was just a lot bigger than the regular KomodoSport. I tried on a 40 in the LS and it was better, but it felt like the top was pinching. I've decided that the LS just aren't for me. I'm now shopping around for a good price on the W41 KomodoSport.
I don't know if other people have come across a similar issue. I'll be curious to hear.
It's interesting that you noticed a difference in the toes. I would think the LS would feel different because they are designed for people with wider feet and higher arches so the top and sides should feel a little looser.
In my experience, the top felt tighter in the LS versus the regular. It's because they skimped on the length of the laces, and there's barely enough room to adjust them if you've got a high instep.
I found this comparison shot on another blog, which illustrates my point. The opening on the regular is long and narrow, the opening on the LS is short and wide.
