About 15 minutes ago I put my Bikilas on and noticed the Vibram Rubber on the right big toe is separating from the fabric, A LOT and on the inside of the big toe too. I've only worn them casually on and off for the past few days and haven't even run in them yet (calves had been too sore). So guys.. I REALLY love these shoes, is there an easy DIY fix, or would a replacement from City Sports be the better route?

Ouch. I would just ask for a replacement. It's not like they were used a lot as they are a new model. If they were worn in a good bit, I would suggest a DIY fix.
Bummer!

Definitely call City Sports as that's a quality/defect issue and not a "oops I broke it" issue

so the roomie got home and went to put her new bikilas on to go for a walk and she had the same problem with the toe coming off but on the pinkie toe! she did nothing more than wear them to lunch with her family yesterday. i was devastated for her! so much so that i'm taking them to the store for an exchange tomorrow. i just cant have that.

Haha. Sounds like line 1 of a haiku. Have you krazy glued your Bikilas, Marley M.?

The exact same thing has happened to my pink Bikila's! I wore them this morning for the 3rd time (1st time running outdoors), and saw the separated toe when I got home. I got mine from TravelCountry, and have emailed them to ask about a return. I'm not much of a runner, and only had about 6 miles in them -- seems like a production quality problem. I'd like to get another pair if the store will let me return these, as they were really comfortable!

i'm finding this weird. the roomie's second pair have held up thus far and my blue ones are solid. i wonder what it is about these toes not liking to stick to the shoe?

Has anyone with this particular issue tried Marley's Krazy Glue advice? I'd like to hear whether it is easily fixed and stays that way. So far, my wife and I have no issues, but the more we use the shoes the more attractive a simple home-fix would be. I guess if we suffer this toe-fail, I will offer to be the guinea pig. *knock knock*

if you look at her pic you can see the rubber is thin and very flexible. when my roomie's toe failed i thought i might try and glue it but it was really hard to get the rubber and the fabric to line up and have the rubber flat at all. it was strange but it could be done with glue. i dont know about krazy glue but i dont see why a shoe or fabric glue that will adhere to rubber would not work. it may take some work to get it all lined up if it's the big or little toe and you might not get it perfect but it could be done.

I've thought about trying it on mine, but don't want to do it until I hear from the store I bought them from. If they say I have to deal directly with Vibram (which I've heard takes a very long time) I may just go on and glue 'em up.
