I just bought a pair of KSO's and had sharp Achilles pain <10min into my first run.
I found that the yellow strip inside the KSO at the back has a firm bulge right at the point where my Achilles inserts.
So I'd like to remove this part (as it was clearly digging in to my Achilles), but am not sure if this part is structural.
Any tips on cutting it out?
Thanks in advance!

I don't believe you can cut that off without wrecking the shoe.
