Hey everybody,

I've been following the board and birthdayshoes.com since June 2010 and now that I'm 3 fivefingers deep, I know I'm ready to join this world.

Living in St. Catharines, ON it has been an exciting ride tracking down and obtaining my current collection.

In July I obtained my first pair (KSO's (Grey/palm)) when I was lucky enough to be camping not 10 minutes from a dealer in a small town (Dunnville). My girlfriend and I each walked out with a pair of KSOs that day and never took them off the whole weekend we were camping. We fell in love with them from the moment we took our first steps. I used my KSO's for everything, walking, hiking, travelling and Ultimate Frisbee. I now had the itch for more.

My original goal was to get a pair of Bikilas, the shopkeep was a great guy and he lead me into my first pair stating that the KSO was a great pair to enter into the world of barefooting. He was so right. After four months of glorious barefooting, all my sports moved indoors (dodgeball, ball hockey, personal training) so I returned to my initial desire of the bikila and started searching for some authorized retailers closer than over an hour away in Dunnville.  Luckily my search was short and I spotted a retailer in Burlington (only 30 minutes away) and en route to my destination anyway.  I stepped into the store and made a B-line for the display of Bikilas and as if it was meant to be, my colour and size were waiting on the top of the pile. When I slid these ones on I knew that they were going to be purchased and on my feet in no time because unlike my KSOs where I always have a bit of difficulty getting my 4th and 5th toes to shimmy into the pockets, the Bikilas seemed to slide themselves on, they felt great and I now owned 2 pairs of fivefingers. I use my Bikilas for indoor fitness and once the weather is consistently above 0 celsius, my morning jogs. My current training regiment includes ball hockey and personal training (boxing) and the Bikilas work great for it.

I decided that I had to define the purpose for each of my VFF's, which in-turn has justified my thirst for more.  The KSO's will remain my hiking, camping and outdoor activity shoes, my Bikilas are set for fitness and morning jogs and now I realized that I need a pair that can truly be the everyday and pair 3 is now on the way! 9 months after I wiggled and shimmied my way into my first pair, I have ordered a pair of Sprints from the Vibram website.

Thats three retail locations, three shoes, and nine months of the most fun, comfort, and rejuvinated new love of fitness. Here's to the long barefoot road ahead.

Oh and about my girlfriend, she is a teacher and wears her second pair, black sprints to teach and all the kids love them and call them her 'crazy shoes'. She's a big hit.  Her third pair, the new Jaya, are also enroute.  She has had a history of injuries which include hip and knee damage from 12 years of karate and extensive reconstructive surgery on her knee in December 2009 and she is an ouspoken supporter of VFFs because as soon as she places her VFFs on her feet, most of her pain dissappears, it is incredible, she feels so free and couldn't be happier.

FiveFingers for the future!

Welcome, really happy to hear of your love and your GF's love of the VFF's. If you need a forth pair may I suggest the Komodo's, they are excellent shoes.

Thanks Tank!

The Komodos are already in my sight for the next pair. I may hold off on the purchase for a little while because the 3 I have will cover what I need. I think once my sports move back indoors in October/November I'll pick up a pair.  Then after that I'm sure I'll find reasons for a fifth and a sixth and so on and so forth.
I love the VFF too so much.

 Grin
My sprints arrived today!
I nearly popped them on as soon as I picked them up from the post office.

They are a different fit than the KSO and the Bikila, the lateral velcro strips on the heel are a different mesium for fitrting the shoe, however with tweaking I'm sure I can make it work.

These Sprints are a size 43 (same as my others) and there is a small amount of room to play with but a size down would be too much to risk with it being too small.

I have had them on for a few hours now and I feel that they are comforatable enough for me. these will be for everyday wear, so I wont worry about the small amount of extra space will not be an issue.
I'm happy that I finally have a pair of sprints, and for the first time, fivefingers that have my favourite colour, blue Smiley
