Hello all!! Ive been lurking around the forums for a while, but decided to make an account and start posting since this seems like a friendly atmosphere. I have been running with VFF's for about 9 months now. I currently own a pair of KSO's and a pair of the Bikila LS. Currently I only use my Bikila LS' because the roads in Afghanistan are far from perfect. I never thought id be able to say that I love running, but i stuck with it and now I cant wait to get through the day so that I can go for a run. The furthest that ive ran in the VFF's is 9.7 miles so far and im hoping to bump it up to 13 miles within the next week or so. I cant wait to get back to Okinawa and maybe a little stateside time to get some good running in on some good roads. Thanks for having me here!!

Welcome to non-lurking status.
I'll take a guess and say you are a Marine.
Stay Safe.

I am former Marine and my guess was based on you going back to Okinawa.
I spent two tours there in the 80's at Futenma and loved it. First at H&HS-18 then at MACS-4.
Now I am living in Germany working for the USAF as a civillian.

Good stuff. Semper Fi.
I am based out of Okinawa on a 3 year tour. It isnt too bad, but it'll be nice to catch some leave back to the states. Ill be halfway done with the tour upon my arrival back to Okinawa from Afghanistan. How is Germany treating you?

Germany is great. We have been here about 9 1/2 years total on two assignments.
Just got back from a party so it's off to bed.

Thanks for the welcome PB. Is your son still in? I look forward to posting more. This morning I ordered a pair of the New Balance Minimus Zero Trails from REI. It will probably take about 2 weeks or so for them to get here. Until then ill keep logging miles in my Bikilas. Twist, the only time that i can say that I was in Germany was when heading to and from Iraq and the airport was the furthest that i went at that stop .

No, my son got out last summer. Now he's taking advantage of the Post 9/11 G.I. Bill.
