I just joined less than 5 minutes ago Cheesy

I'm not a big walker yet, and running is out of the question, but I'm trying to change that a bit at a time.  I just got a pedometer, and this morning I picked up the VFF KSOs.

I put the shoes on before I left the store and wore them all day at work. They are incredibly comfortable.

I've always had some problems with my feet. I'm flat footed and have "morton's toe" where my second toe is longer than the first. I get crazy calluses on my feet sometimes, and frequently have plantar fasciitis. I also have terrible bunions as my large toes point outward at a sharp angle. All of this makes me feet hurt so bad, and I can't wear high heels even if I wanted to because the pain is excruciating.

On top of that, I have bad knees and suffer chronic pain from that. All of this makes exercise very difficult, and anything higher impact than walking is probably never going to be viable for me.

I have run across the VFFs often over the last 6 months and always found them intriguing, but couldn't afford the price tag. I finally gave in and got a pair, and it's been less than a day and I love them. I went with the agate and grey women's KSO as I wanted full foot coverage. My manager at work says she's not sure if they are acceptable according to dress code, but I can't see why not. They completely cover the foot, there are no holes, they are fully soled, etc. And if it proves to improve my foot health, I will be really upset if I am forced to wear normal shoes at work.

I always had a problem in regular shoes with my toes all welding together in a big, unmoving lump that is incredibly uncomfortable, so I'm excited to see if I can reverse some of the physical changes my feet went through due to wearing shoes all my life.

Right now my goal is to work up to 10,000 steps a day. According to my pedometer, I got about 5,500 just from work alone- and I didn't wear it the entire day- but I still have a long ways to go.

Anyway, this is me. Time to lurk more now.

Oh, and here's a photo of my dorkishness:

Good luck with your goal, and welcome to free feet!

Welcome!  While there are different types of plantar fasciitis injuries, I've found that the VFFs have enabled me to actually start running again with mine.  I just have to be sure to stretch completely after any run.  But for the most part I can feel my plantar fasciitis healing.  Also, another member on the board took before and after pictures and it looks like they actually developed their arches from relatively nothing to pretty decent.

So goodluck from a fellow Texan!

Welcome, from another Texan with jacked up feet, plantar fasciitis, a survivor of assortments of tendinitis and a stress fracture. Haha Cheesy I'm also finding that my of is going away. Shockingly, I've spent the better part of the last two weeks with little to no inflammation. Tonight for whatever reason seems to be the exception. Still, nothing like it has been! Happy five footing! Smiley

Thanks everyone!

Since I've started wearing bigger sized shoes than I used to, a size up from what I "should" I haven't had as much feed pain as I used to. I am still super excited about these though. I go barefoot around my house all the time and I just want healthy feet without any pain!
