Hi all,

Just wanted to say a quick hello to everyone, and also a big thank you for all the great info that Birthdayshoes and its contributors provide.

I recently bought a pair of KSOs but after not even 3 weeks I noticed the tread had started to wear down on the left shoe around the ball of the foot. Now, I was wearing them daily, through the city, running both on- and off-road and at the gym, but I didn't expect this type of wear so rapidly.

I sent them back to the Australian distributor thinking it may be a manufacturing issue, as the razor stiping on the left shoe did look significant shallower than that on the right shoe. They said it would be difficult to narrow down whether it was a manufacturing issue or an issue with my walking stride, but they happily sent me another new pair (wonderful Vibram's services as per usual!) and said if it happens again then it is obviously an issue with me, and not the shoes themselves. The distributor also said that it is walking and not running that wears them down quicker, especially if you have particular heavy strides or a peculiar gait.  Anyway, I've done a quick a search on the forums here, but haven't been able to find anything, and I was wondering if anyone has any info on walking technique in fivefingers.

cheers,
Cayne

Welcome! Smiley

Try searching for "walking" - that ought to bring up some threads.

You could possibly get some advice at The Runners Shop in Woden - they're the local distributor.
