Hey, new to the forum. Just decided to join to keep up on the VFF community.

I got my first pair (of black trek sports) over the summer to use ironically for vibrams original intended purpose...sailing (and rafting). I absolutely hate sandals and flip flops with a passion but was tired of melting my feet on the hot asphalt or stabbing my feet on every rock at the bottom of a river from being barefoot. I actually liked the unique look of five fingers and went to try some on and completely loved them! Thus my water sports dilemma was solved. I was never a runner, i never liked running and never was good at it, but i heard about how great these were for running and tried it and low and behold...i have started running now simply because running in these shoes is so much fun. What a win win for me Grin

I have read people saying that first time VFF buyers usually get a size too big, i am guilty of that. The 42s for trek sports seemed too small. My 43 trek sports are a tad loose and there is an annoying amount of space for all of my little toes. When i curl up my toes my little ones can almost come out of the pockets, so some of the glove feeling is lost. I went and tried on some 42 ksos the other day and while they felt a bit tight, they fit so much better and more like a glove. i could bend my toes all the way with the shoes and it felt a whole lot more like vibrams are supposed to feel. So in the next couple of days i will be going back for my second pair. I am definitely hooked on five fingers and love these shoes.

Welcome!

I also bought my first pair of VFFs too large (treksports coincidentally). It does take a little while to figure out how they're supposed to fit.

I got my first pair of Vibrams for boat use also.
My friends and I made weekly kayaking trips to a small island about a mile off the coast where i live.
So i got the classics for when we had to walk across the rough terrain in the middle of the island.
Then i got into barefoot running so i got a pair of Bikilas, I wouldn't run in anything else now.
I just picked up a pair of Speeds today, so now that puts me at three pairs. Smiley
