While everyone else was looking for boots to keep their feet warm, I just had to get my fivefingers Sprint.

I've been wearing them around my house, and was looking for any suggestions as to how to "train" to wear them longer.  My hope is to eventually run in them, but want to go about it in a way that doesn't freak my body out.

I can't wait to show my friends my latest shoe obsession!

Welcome!  Smiley

Just wearing them around will get your feet used to them; getting used to running requires... well, running!  I was a total couch potato when I started, so basically I'd just go out and run as many blocks as I could (at the start, that was about 6) and do that every day.  Even that small amount made my calves sore, but it was clear it was a good kind of hurt, not an "oh, no, I've injured myself" sort, so I kept going each day (though I would stop during each day's run when it started to hurt, and walk home).

The main thing, though, is not to go out there thinking of it as "training" or "exercising" - but as having an excuse to run around and leap and balance and have FUN!  Cheesy

And so Antaeus returns, wiser for the wear.

Welcome! "Training" is a simple as putting them on in the morning, and taking them off when you don't want to wear them anymore. The best approach is not an increasing mixture between FiveFingers and regular shoes, but rather just slowly upping the amount of running you in them. No real "training" necessary. There is no part of a conventional running shoe that assists your feet in any way, so just wear your FiveFingers.

I've now been wearing my shoes for 3 days.  I bought the injinji socks since it is winter, but my feet aren't really happy in them.

When I wear the shoes without socks, my feet are very happy!  Smiley

I recently had to wear shoes and my feet felt so confined.  In fact, my feet/ankles hurt when I went running in my running shoes.

I also noticed that when I wear my vibrams I have really land hard on my heels.  I haven't bruised my heels, but it was interesting to note.
