signing in from upstate New York

Hello all! I am a new Vibram wearer and figured I'd join the community.

I used to play all kinds of sports as a youngster, culminating in high school cross-country. Shoes have always been a big hassle for me; nothing ever fit right. I've come to discover that my feet are quite short and wide - I call them "square feet" - and I've spent most of my life in clownshoes that are two sizes too big just for the width.

Now I'm in my thirties and decided to become active again, having recently discovered parkour. First hearing about VFFs I was intrigued; due to the nature of the beast I spent over two months hitting up all the local (and not-so-local) shoe stores that carry them to try different models and sizes. Finally settled on the green-grey (moss-clay?) KSOs. And a pair of Injinji thin socks, since it's winter. These things are wonderful - I spend most of my time at home barefoot or just in socks so there was almost no transition for me and I wore them all day straight off. Also do gymnastics workouts in them. Only downside is that they're a bit too expensive and I can't get a second pair of slip-on Classics for home!
