So I have this pair of Lems that have given up the ghost but not if I can help it. The rubber is about worn through and coming completely unglued from the cloth bottom. How would I go about attaching leather to it and forming through sides up a little to avoid catching on stuff or exposing that clothy bit to get torn?
Wow that's cold, I would probably just keel over and die if I ventured into that. I recently picked up a pair of Merrell True Gloves, seemed like a good option with cold weather coming soon to my parts. So far impressed with the traction and warmer than LEMings. Not that my cold will be anywhere near your's, 30*f at lowest is likely...
Skate shoes and Original SWAT boots for many years for casual and work, then some Converse All Stars. The flat sole of the Converse solved lower back and leg/ ankle pain; then discovered VFFs and rode that train for a while. Got back to wearing regular shoes for work and it was miserable, now I've got a nearly destroyed pair of LEMings from working in them, but I'll be damned if my feet hurt anymore KSO, Smartwool Classics, 2x LEMings, Invisibleshoes Huaraches, Merrell True Gloves, not a one regular shoe for these dogs anymore.
Didn't ever actually get the shoes due to an error in the system somewhere, called and they straightened it right up for me. Still need to order them again actually, but... For the past couple months I've worn nothing but LEMings or Xero Shoes(or none of course) and over the past two weeks or so I've noticed a sore spot about the size of a dime on the sole of my right foot right on the edge about 1.5" behind my pinky toe. Have my feet perhaps gotten even wider?
Neglected my thread again So when I placed the order last time it didn't actually go through to Softstar, my bank held it back and left it pending until giving my money back...! So tonight I'm trying again but with PayPal this time. I really like the Vivo Gobi, but to steep for me, on the note of shoes for other uses I'd really like some Tough Gloves from Merrell.
The wife approved of them for wedding wear, she said she would prefer that silly square toe but all of us here know that just isn't gonna fly... jmijares, have you been over to edcforums.com? And how are you liking those 5.11 pants?
Got a pair of DASHRunAmoc with the 2mm sole, wife has been nagging me to get a pair of dressy shoes and with two weddings coming up seemed like a good time. Already can't wait to get them in. Side note... Lot of money going out lately, feels weird. Just got a new backpack from 5.11 and gonna be putting in an order for another flashlight Monday after I sell a bike.
I did love the day in them for sure. Walking in them needs some lace tweaking, think it can be fixed by shortening the lace from toes to the outside, my big toes get really close to the inside edge causing the lace to dig in to my second toe. Once that is fixed I may just not wear anything else all summer except at work. EDIT: Fixed the problem, just slid the knot over my toes farther down thus making the lace a straighter angle up between my toes. Getting the hang of tweaking the sandals is fun and the level of adjustability in something so simple is neat.
6mm, forgot to throw that in the first post. Once I've been walking around a bit and my foot is where its supposed to be, not just in picture mode they feel pretty right. Also my first and only ever pair of sandals.
Got mine in and tried some different lacing, first try sucked and didn't stay on well. Second try was with some parachord, feels better on the foot imo and even my wife said they look good. Took em on a little jog with the new lacing and they seem to stay on better than walking in the first try today but I don't like the snappy running sounds. Money well spent, and super fast shipping, even got a friend eyeballing him a pair already.
I see on the Vivo site that the aqualite has a durable sole, would those with the footbed maybe be a good option when more moolah is found post bike aquirement.
So I'm about to pickup a bike from a coworker. I've wanted to get back into BMX for a while and here's my chance finally. Problem is, all the stiff soled shoes I know of that would be suitable for flatland and a little freestyle just don't work for my feet anymore. My old goto was Vans or Elements, not aiming for ground feel here but flat, no arch support, and a stiff durable sole. Did some searching but came up short thus far.
