Welcome!

I'm originally from Arizona and grew up going barefoot in the middle of summer in Central Phoenix.  I was kinda insane back then...

Losech, your posting picture looks like my mom's Jindo, same colors and markings. I'm guessing it's probably a shiba inu or another spitz type dog though. Super cute Smiley
Yeah, he is a Shiba Inu.

In the store today:
Guy: Funny looking shoes.
Me: Yes, they are a bit odd.
Guy: The stuff goes all the way around the toes?
Me: Yep.
Guy: My toes are too close together or I might give those a try.

I've had my KSO's for almost three weeks and have only gotten a couple comments.  Mainly the "nice shoes!" kind.
However, these two older ladies at the dog park I go to almost every day saw them the first time I wore them and just kinda stared for a bit then ignored them.  The next time I saw them one of them laughed and said I was wearing those funny shoes again.  The third time around they were very interested and asked all kinds of questions.

Lady 1: Let me see the bottom of those.
Me: Sure. *picks up foot*
Lady 2: Wow, you can sure twist your leg good!
Lady 1: That's interesting.  It thought they were socks!
Me: No, these are socks. *takes off KSO and points to toe socks*
Lady 2: Ooh! You wear socks with toes?
Me: Yep!  I've got uber sweaty feet so it helps keep the shoes clean.
Lady 1: Let me see that thing.
Me: *hands KSO to her*
Lady 1: This is really neat.  *twists it in all kinds of directions* How is the traction on the grass?
Me: Great if it's not wet.  You didn't see, but last week I slid down the entire hill on my heels.
(There is a big and often slick hill you have to go down to get to the dog park gate)
Lady 2: Oh wow, that must have been interesting.  I'll have to look more into those things.

I went on to tell them where to try some on and what websites to visit for more information.  It was neat talking to them, and a few minutes later a runner-type dude came into the park and also began to ask all sorts of questions about them.  He had looked into them before and seemed more interested in giving a pair a try after talking with me.
I have yet to have someone, other than my family, make fun of my shoes.

I used this in my introduction thread but it's the best one I've got of my KSO's.

Hello all!  I'm relatively new to the whole barefoot thing, for the most part.  I basically grew up barefoot on the scorching streets of Phoenix Arizona but society requires shoes so I had to wear them eventually and over the years I kinda forgot about going barefoot until recently.
So one day I decided to ditch my shoes and stick through the pain of transitioning.  I went completely barefoot for six months (with the exception of flip-flops for inside buildings and SWAT boots for mowing the lawn) before I got my first pair of VFF's.  I tried on some black KSO's at the only store in my town that carries them but the store didn't have the orange and black kind I wanted, so I ordered some online and got some free Injinji socks to boot!
While they aren't a perfect fit, I think they work fine and I haven't had any issues with them being slightly too big yet.  I'd normally wear a Men's 39, no idea on Women's since my feet are crazy wide. But I was set on the orange and black coloration so I went ahead and ordered one size up.  It actually works this way since I've got super sweaty feet and have to wear toe socks if I don't want my KSO's smelling like foot funk, and the socks help fill in the extra space.

I'm not incredibly active but I do enjoy hiking, a lot, and try to go on at least one (preferably two) hikes a week. Back when I was younge, like, 14 I think?  I hiked the Grand Canyon.  I hope that gives you an idea of how much I like to hike, and that wasn't even the biggest hike I've gone on!
I've picked up jogging and light running, mainly on hiking trails since I can't stand that on concrete. However, due to a recent double foot injury one of my over enthusiastic dogs gave me I haven't been able to do much of that.

I hope to add more to my collection of minimalist shoes in the near future.  I plan on getting a pair of orange TrekSports, a pair of black Jayas and some of those Merrell True Gloves in the brindle/harvest coloration.  And maybe a pair of brown KSO Treks.  Haha, I've only had my KSO's for almost three weeks and I can't wait to get more!

Anyways, that's my introduction.  I look forwards to chatting with you guys about these awesome shoes.
