How much does it break in? Does it eventually compare to nicer heel cups, or does it just slightly improve?
2  General Category / Feet and FiveFingers Accessories and Alternatives / Vivobarefoot Ra - heel cup is massively uncomfortable on: September 12, 2012, 03:50:47 PM
Has anyone had a similar experience with the heal cup on the Vivobarefoot Ra? There is 0 padding around the heel (on the side of the shoe near the ankle) which makes it very rigid and uncomfortable.

Does this break in over time? I'm going to return them otherwise.

I really like my Trek Sports for hiking. Easy to clean!

I've seen multiple people wearing FiveFingers on Survivor this season.  Yay for free advertising.
Ya - there are at least 3 people wearing them.

The pain between my toes has mostly gone away now. I haven't felt it in a few days and I wear them everyday (alternating between the black and brown pair usually).

EDIT: OH GAWD REI is out of stock of the black ones! One store still has a pair! I must stop there on the way back this weekend!

Ya, this^

I'm still experiencing some discomfort between my toes on the left foot, but it is only when I walk a lot and it is seemingly getting better.

The leather is exactly the same.
Hmm you may be right. The presentation is of a much more plush leather though.

I do have one minor complaint: on my left foot the part between the toe pockets sort of annoys in between my toes, but that may be something that will go away with wear.

Will definitely be ordering more.

Does the leather seem noticeably different compared to Trek LS? Are you sure you didn't mean KSO Trek?
Yes. The leather is very different. I returned 2 pair of Trek LS (black and tan). The leather was no where near as plush. Plus the laces bothered me and the biggest issue was my ankles rubbing.

I love my Bormios. Wore them to work today and they are absolutely comfortable. I'm thinking about picking up another 2 pairs (black and tan) because they were discontinued.

I just got my 2 pairs of Bormios and I have to say they are ridiculously comfortable. Seemingly by far the most comfortable out of any of my pairs:
Classic, Sprint(x2), KSO, KSO Trek Sport.

I feel like I should order another 2 pairs just for the future... I'll give these a few days first though.

They also look REALLY nice. Like super duper nice - Best office setting by far. The leather is much more of a true leather compared to Trek LS - smooth not fuzzy.
I'll have to add some pics later.
11  General Category / Vibram Five Fingers Sizing and Fit Discussion / Trek LK Ankle Rubbing on: December 16, 2011, 09:37:52 PM
My Trek LS' rub on the bottom of my ankles on the outside of my feet. It seems as if the shoe should come up about a centimeter less. The leather is very tough - I've tried to massage it to loosen up, but no go.

Have other people experienced this? I literally took my shoe off after work and walked the quarter mile to my car because it was so painful.
12  General Category / Feet and FiveFingers Accessories and Alternatives / Re: Vibram Discontuing the Bormio and Trek LS. on: December 05, 2011, 01:47:06 AM
1. How much do they break in? I'm getting pressure points at the top of the shoes - around my ankles, etc.

2. Does anyone wear socks with them? The felt at the end of the Trek LS seems really slippery with socks.

3. The laces... meh I hate flat laces. Unlike sports laces that are easy to maintain flat laces I'd have to straighten everytime I wore them.

if 1 & 2 aren't a problem then I'll probably keep them. At least one pair.. the black is truthfully dark gray and not super fancy. Sad

FYI for those who are considering Trek LS: The inside of the shoe is leather. While nice, it allows for much more of a slippery surface between the shoe and my socks. Plus the laces are really weird with VFFs... I will wear them for a few days inside, but these may be going back...

The shoe is SUPER stiff as well...

*Sigh* No warm weather VFF yet.

I took advantage of the VFF sales and ordered 2 Trek LS for myself @ $105. Got Jaya LR for my mom @ $70.

I honestly think that my situation is very unique.
Nope. As other have said you have something wrong with your form. People run on pavement barefoot - I have as well. No issues.
