super hilly navesink challenge 15k in central joisey
1:24 - which i think put me at a low 9's pace - i have to wait to see the results online
out of 300+ i was the only one in vibrams - needless to say they got alot of attention and i enjoyed very much talking to interested folks about them
my favorite mid race comment was a guy who passed me and said - "dude you forgot your shoes" - it was done in a funny way and everyone that i encountered thought they were very cool
it was funny - i did a shod 10 min pace in my sept half and wasnt really sure what i was gonna throw up in this race - i felt a little pressure too to at least break a 10 min pace - kinda like i was reppin the vibrams - i didnt want to let my kso's down - so overall i was happy with my finish

MM (Jason)
Looked a nice surface to finish on.
Do you use a garmin forerunner gps type gizmo? Are the actual results based on a chip time or a gun to line time? As someone that starts at the back, always a descrepancy bewteen race clock time and my time.
Jason

i would love a garmin - in the future maybe
for this race there was no chip as it was a smaller race so pretty much everyone had room to squeeze in by the start
a large part of the race was on dirt roads with rocks and roots to sidestep i would hesitate to call it trail which is why i chose the kso instead of the treks

i tell you what i had a blast - as i mentioned earlier in the thread - so many couldnt help but approach me to find out about the vff - most were folks "on the fence" - hopefully there were a few that might decide to give em a try - it was kinda cool though being the oddball - i guess i like that type of attention

I know the feeling... I always feel like an ambassador at running events! I enjoy it as well; I've always been a bit different/ easy to spot in a crowd.
