Howdy again,

I've been doing extensive research on barefoot running/minmalistic shoe running and found that it might be something I'd enjoy.  However, most of the threads and/or stories I read involve a person pursuing only one activity: running.  I'm an active guy, and my real question should be stated as follows:  Will a more natural running form (derived from barefoot/minimalistic running) hurt other activities like basketball, tennis, and other high intensity sports requiring some heel-stomping action?

I'm hoping to hear the opinion of those who perform these activities themselves [especially basketball]... while also running in a more natural way (forefoot style).

Thanks everyone,
Tanner

Note: I have not started the process of working myself into barefoot running... So, I am a clean slate.

I wear VF exclusively as part of a challenge/experiment I am doing over the next year. I've had a chance to do a lot of different kinds of activities in them. Some work well; others do not. BVFF seemed to be optimal during the few games of b-ball that I played. Traction to the floor was great, and VFF kept me up on my toes where I could be a little more assertive in play. The one time I did come down on my heal, I was able to shift my weight quickly enough to avert injury or pain. I'm currently coaching badminton in them. No issues up to this point.

I know... replace hiking boots w/ VFF

That definately helps.  Any others with similar experiences.  I'm interested to hear from those who run with a barefoot style, but play in regular basketball shoes.
